About Me

My photo
Paula Claborn Henderson
Widowed at 35 by a drunk driver who killed my first husband, Deputy Constable Frank Scott Claborn (EOW 2-19-04), in the line of duty. Now remarried, our entire family is involved in drunk driving awareness and programs. Scott and I have a 14 year old son with Juvenile Diabetes. I also now have two beautiful daughters and eight grandchildren.

Do you think that Constable Ron Hickman should be investigated?

This is another memory he had wanted to have with his daddy. Luckily his Uncle Thomas loves the Texans, too, and wanted to take him. Notice the hat he is wearing? It is autographed by the owner of the Texans and the owner of the Houston Astros. It was pure luck he got both in one night that I took him to a ballgame.

This is an memory that every boy is entitled to in his life, but Scott's killer took that memory away from him, too.

Thanksgiving, Scott's birthday and Christmas are all within a one month period. Tanner wanted to go to New York City because no one knew us there or knew our story. I tried to make it as happy as possible, but still allow him to grieve. Going to a town where no one knows you helps.

David and I went to a Big & Rich concert on my first date since Scott was killed. They hold a special place in our hearts.

No matter what your politics, this man deserves a lot of credit of honoring our fallen officers like he does. He hugs, shakes hands and will sign anything you want him to. I saw him nearly in tears listening to some of our stories. He's a fine man in my book.

Family vacations were very important to Scott, so David and I have kept them important as well.

Tanner really wanted to go to Lake Tahoe because his daddy had taken me there for our anniversary one year.
